Are You Cleaning Your Colored Contacts Correctly?

Nowadays, more and more people are using colored contact lenses to change the color of their eyes and accent different makeup looks. It’s important to learn how to take care of your contacts, especially if they’re reusable. Colored contact lenses are delicate accessories that have to be cared for appropriately to maintain a safe, comfortable wearing experience, and with the following cleaning and storage tips, your lenses will stay sterile and safe to wear.

Cleaning

1.Wash your hands with unscented soap, then dry them thoroughly.

2.Hold the lens in the palm of your hand.

3.Pour a small amount of contact solution into the palm of your hand.

4.Gently rub the lens with your fingertips in a circular motion to remove any dirt or buildup from each side.

5.Rinse the lens with some fresh solution to wash away any debris you rubbed off.

6.Place the clean contact lens into a sterile contact lens case.

Storage

1.Colored contact lenses should be stored in solution in a sealed case between uses.

2.Only use lens solution to clean your lenses and lens case.

3.Ensure that you use fresh solution to clean your lenses and change the solution in the lens case after every use.

4.Always inspect the lenses for any damage or tears before storing and reusing them.

5.Replace your contact lens case at least every three months.
